Hangover Hole

About

Hangover Hole is a natural reef site on the South Shore, close to the Gleana (Kevin's Wreck) and the other inshore reef sites off Southampton. Like much of the South Shore, the reef here is cut through by canyons, gullies and caves formed in the old limestone, and it has become a favourite with local dive shops and underwater photographers.

Diving here

A maze of canyons, arches and swim-throughs along the base of the reef, with a cave that is hard to find without a local guide. Depths run from about 10 ft to 45-55 ft, so it suits snorkellers on the top of the reef and divers of most levels below, though Bermuda 100 rates navigating the full site as difficult and recommends going with an experienced local guide. Expect sponges, corals and a good range of reef fish; the tunnels make it a strong photo and video site.
